About GroupSpark

Small tools for better group moments.

GroupSpark is a free collection of browser-based tools for teachers, facilitators, workshop leaders, and group organizers. It helps people make balanced groups, create partner pairs, choose names fairly, arrange classroom seats, assign tasks, and keep activities on time.

Why GroupSpark exists

Routine classroom logistics should not take over the activity itself. GroupSpark focuses on small jobs that often interrupt a lesson or workshop: counting people into groups, reshuffling partners, tracking turns, or making a seating plan. Each tool is designed to be understandable in a minute and useful without an account.

How the tools are designed

Results are generated in the browser and are always meant to be reviewed by the teacher or organizer. Randomness can support a neutral process, but it cannot account for accessibility, safeguarding, learning needs, or personal circumstances. The person running the activity stays in control.

Privacy by design

GroupSpark does not ask students to create accounts. Lists entered into the tools are processed on the device being used rather than sent to a GroupSpark application server. Some optional conveniences use local browser storage and can be cleared by the user.

Who the site is for

The site is created for adult educators, facilitators, and organizers. It is not designed as a service for children to create accounts or submit personal information independently. Read the privacy policy for more detail, or visit the contact page with a question.
